Red Desert

neon, glass, digital photography

Red Desert the neon sculpture is inspired by Michelangelo Antonioni’s film Red Desert (1964) and the modern life I live in.
I’ve lost the ability to tell what is desire and what is work from the emotional sickness I got from the complicated city life. Somehow every feeling seems troublesome and harmful to what I want in the future. Most of the time I try to avoid the emotional weight imposed by other human beings. Projecting emotions on the inanimate objects and landscapes around me has become part of the way I live.
